Reviews:
The deVillebillies new CD has captured the band’s traditional country roots & created a Honky Tonkin, Texas Swingin, Rockabillying Down Home Country Party and made it all their own. The brand new original songs Cigarettes & Beer, Truck Drivin’ Woman & Cowgirl Butts already sound like Country Classics.
The deVillebillies are the "real deal"… they’ve brought back the art of real country songwriting.
Check out their "turbo twanged" CD & join the party!!

Here in Wisconsin we put a little oomph in our country music. A little more bass, a lot more drums, and one hell of a lot more fun than our Southern cousins. This is the perfect example of Good Ole Wisconsin Bar Band Country music! ...it is a fantastic collection of barroom anthems. My personal favorites on this CD are Truck Drivin' Woman, Coal Miner's Cocaine, Cowgirl Butts (Drive Me Nuts), and Sandstone Steps. You can feel the heat of this revved up twang machine in every song. the deVillebillies have the high octane juice to make this style roar to the top!

I listened to your Coal Miner's Cocaine and I'm still laughing. My day job is a pharmacist. Yep, I sell drugs to support my music habit. I've heard several great songs of that theme (Steve Earle's Oxycontin Blues, Old Crow Medicine Show's songs, etc) and I would say you guys are right there amongst 'em.
- Greg Young, pharmacist & songwritier
You'll be spiritually enhanced by songs like Coal Miner's Cocaine, Party in the Trailer Park, and my favorite, Cowgirl Butts (Drive Me Nuts)

1. Truck Drivin' Woman D. Hall c2008
I was drivin' down I-94 when I felt that tire blow So, I limped my car on over to the side of the road
Couldn't find my spare tire Didn't know how to work the jack
I was just about to cry when I heard that semi turnin' back
Out of that big rig stepped a woman twice my size She had my flat tire fixed in the wink of an eye
I tried to flip that girl a twenty But my cash wasn't enough
She got me up in her sleeper Now I think I'm in love
She's a truck drivin' woman got a big load in the back A chain drive wallet and a hint of a moustache
Cowboy boots tight jeans and greasy hair up on her head She delivers the goods when she gets you into bed
Now I'm used to datin' bleach blondes and skinny model types But they ain't never did what that trucker did that night
She used her big ol' belt buckle and a rusty tire tool And taught me things she said she learned in truck drivin' school
Now she's my truck drivin' woman got a big load in the back A chain drive wallet and a hint of a moustache
Cowboy boots tight jeans and greasy hair up on her head She delivers the goods when she gets you into bed

2. Two Step Plan T. Grinde c2008 ASCAP Desk Top Publishing Co.
When I looked in the mirror this morning, I didn't see much hair Seems like yesterday therewas a whole lot more up there
No creams, no sprays, no lotions will improve my scalp But I know what to do that'll really help
I take the first girl who makes it look like she can Help me hit the dance floor like she don't give a damn
Just twirlin' her around makes me feel good again Yeah the only thing that helps me is a Two Step Plan
Doctor tells me "Elmo you're drinkin' too much beer" but I say "Doc I only fill it up to here"
He says "Ya keep on goin' you're gonna wind up dead" So i set my glass down and you know where I head

3. Coal Miner's Cocaine C. Robson c2008
Grandpa was working in that mine number nine When the fire burst under the ground
He made it to the surface with a broken back But some of them ain't never been found
So his mining days were over and his working days too He sat home and fought throught he pain
But he found a little something that would cut the edge And we call it Coal Miner's Cocaine
Coal Miner's Cocaine is bringing the cash Selling them little pills
The cops don't like it But Grandpa wouldn't mind It's a prescription that will pay your bills
The day that Grandpa died just sitting on the porch His pills spilled out on the ground
So I keep refilling coal miner's cocaine And his body ain't never been found
Every Friday night I head out of the woods To the Interstate in the fast lane
I reckon city folks are crazy but they got that money And I sell them coal miner's cocaine
chorus
I learned a couple things from the mining men Hell's a hollow hole in the hills
And coal miner's cocaine as a retirement plan Is a prescription that will cure your ills

4. Sunday Morning Outlaw D. Hall / C. Robson c2008
I remember Sunday mornings when I was just a kid The smell of fryin' bacon wakin' up my head
Waylon and Willie on that kitchen radio I thought Lukenbach Texas might be the place to go
Even though my friends couldn't stand that stuff I'd wake up early Sunday mornin' I couldn't get enough
Of the man in black on that kitchen radio I thought Jackson might be the place to go
For six days a week I played the Stones I couldn't even let my buddies know
Come sunrise Sunday mornin' I'd be in my Momma's kitchen Diggin' on that country radio
I like that drivin' rhythm and those screamin' guitars I listened to the eight tracks, I listened at the bars
To that old Buck Owens on my pickup's radio I thought Bakersfield might be the place to go
For six days a week I played Van Halen While secretly I was learnin' Waylon
Come sunrise Sunday mornin' I'd be in my Momma's kitchen Diggin' on that country radio
Every time I dropped a quarter into a jukebox slot I played something greezy, I punched in something hot
I wanna get whiskey bent and hell bound 'cause Bocephus told me so I though Nashville Tennesee might be the place to go
Now for six days a week I play the outlaws Strap on my guitar and let 'er go
Come sunrise Sunday mornin' I'm still in my Momma's kitchen Diggin on that country radio

5. Cigarettes and Beer T. Grinde c2008 ASCAP Desk Top Publishing Co.
Everyone's got a hobby, I guess that's true For most guys it's their girlfriend, that's all they ever do
If you decide to leave me, well I've got a different view I'll break out the smokes, and ice down the brew
Smokin' cigarettes and drinkin' beer That's how I spend my time when you're not here
So don't hurry back, because it's clear I sure like smokin' cigarettes and drinkin' beer
Baby's got an attitude, you're always right And we've been known to go many rounds long into the night
But if you go stormin' out, and I hear that door slam tight I'll be glad to satisfy my other appetite

6. Cowgirl Butts (Drive Me Nuts) D. Hall c2004
That country club lady sure looks fine Wearin' Christian Diore while she's sippin' white wine
Or takin' tennis lessons in a little white skirt When her husband's gone she loves to flirt
She loves to brag about all her Daddy's money But that don't mean a damn thing to me
Give me a redneck girl in tight blue jeans The painted on kind if you know what I mean
I don't care about diamonds pearls and such But cowgirl butts drive me nuts
You know that city woman in her tailor made suit She's got her hair pulled back, lookin' real cute
Shows off her business saavy as she shows her thighs She knows how to work those boardroom guys
She owns a Fortune 500 company But that don't mean a damn thing to me
Give me a redneck girl in tight blue jeans The painted on kind if you know what I mean
I don't care about stocks and bonds and such But cowgirl butts drive me nuts
If you really wanna know what gets to me It's a cowgirl wearin' Wrangler 14NBPs
There's an actresss out in Hollywood She's keepin' plastic surgeons busy but she sure looks good
Doin' love makin' scenes with a leading man Always workin' out or workin' on her tan
She's been nominated by the academy But that don't mean a damn thing to me
Give me a redneck girl in tight blue jeans The painted on kind if you know what I mean
I don't care about Oscars Emmys and such But cowgirl butts drive me nuts

7. Sandstone Steps C. Robson c2008
I was minding my own business in this bar outside of town
The night Sonny took his pool cue and laid that drunkard down
And I saw the whole thing happen; I was heading for the door
When that drunken out of towner came up looking for some more
And I didn't see the sheriff as I lit into that man
And that's the week that I spent three days in the Douglass County can
This punk kid in a MoPar cussed my beat up old Chevelle
So I chased him down the highway like a bat straight out of hell
I saw the red lights flashing I felt like having fun
Suddenly I'm piled up staring down a cold, black gun
My efforts to explain things fell to no avail
And that's the month that I spent three weeks in the Douglass County Jail
Scooter owed me $40 so I made a midnight stop
I'm pulling off his sixties and look up and saw the cop
WellI'm only helping Scooter, sir, his bearings need some grease
But I didn't know his wife was the doggone sheriff's niece
That Black robed judge was listening, but he didn't hear my point
And that's the year that I spent six months in the Douglass County Joint
I'm a little short of money what from paying my court fees
So Pedro got me driving hauling Japanese TV's
Just this side of Rockford That rig starts running hot
How was I to Know it wasn't Sonys, it was pot
And the DEA's all waiting I'm in court again
That's how I got ten years in the Sandstone Federal Pen

8. Party In The Trailer Park D. Hall c2008
It was a Friday evening after work there was nothin' much to do
I thought I'd have a couple of beers and fire up the barbeque
My neighbor from two trailers down asked "would you mind if I joined you?"
Then he drove down to the liquor store and bought a case of Red White and Blue
While he was gone I got a call from a woman across the street
She said "I see your Weber's gettin' hot I got a freezer full of meat"
"My daughter and her college friends are here and they're gettin' bored"
I said "I don't mind if they got time and there's always room for more"
Fire up the grill ice down the beer the neighborhood's comin' out to play
We'll light tiki torches on our redwood porches to keep the mosquitos away
The trailers will be rockin' that's all I've got to say
We'll build a bonfire after dark And have a party in the trailer park
The guy next door said his son plays bass in a redneck rock and roll band
The next thing I knew some long hairs pulled up in a smoke-filled, rusted-out van
They set up in my carport powered by an old extension cord
Threw some plywood down and spread some sawdust 'round
For a makeshift hardwood floor
The band was loud the beer was cold the food and the girls were hot
Those coeds they were goin' wild and started pullin' off their tops
The cops showed up and arrested me but before they could take me in
I yelled y'all come back tomorrow we're gonna do this again
Fire up the grill ice down the beer the neighborhood's comin' out to play
We'll light tiki torches on our redwood porches to keep the mosquitos away
The trailer's will be rockin' I wouldn't have it any other way
We'll build a bonfire after dark and have a party in the trailer park
